Directed by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi, the 11-minute animation 'Crab' is the story of a shy and isolated boy who wants to join the school theater group. But the only role he is offered is the role of a crab.
'Crab', which has been produced by Iran’s Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, has already taken part in a number of global events, including the 14th Fest Anča Int’l Animation Festival in Slovakia, the 2021 Anifilm festival in Czech Republic, the 21st Animatricks Int’l Animation Festival in Finland, the 43rd Créteil Int’l Women's Film Festival in France, the 45th Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF), the 62nd Bilbao Int’l Festival of Documentary and Short Films (ZINEBI) in Spain and the 15th Animest Int’l Animation Film Festival in Romania, to name but a few.
‘Gray Body’ by Samaneh Shojaee is also among the Iranian lineup of the German film event.
Founded in 1989, the Filmfest Dresden focuses on short film in all its facets, and has become one of the most important festivals of its kind throughout Germany.
The short film festival is also one of the best endowed short film festivals in Europe with prizes and awards worth more than €60,000.
This year, the event will be held on April 13-18, 2021.
